“GROUP FORMING NOW: Experience The Thrill Of Skating Mouse Patterns For Leopard Rainbow Trout In The Wilderness Of Alaska. Rated One Of The Top Mousing Locations In The World. 6-7 Other Species To Fish Too!”
The Aniak River offers some of the best trout mousing in entire world. It’s river and its tributaries have an incredibly healthy and unpressured Rainbow Trout population that are eager to hit a mouse pattern. Couple that with the unique lodging experience offered by The Aniak River Lodge, and you are sure to have an experience of a lifetime in the wilderness of Alaska.
With a lower lodge, an upper-river wilderness tent camp, and a brand new mid-river lodge, each location will give you a brand new experience which is unique to Alaskan fishing operations that normally operate out of a fixed location. While the rainbow trout fishing is great, that isn’t the only fish on the menu here. Throughout the season, 11 species (5 of them salmon) run through the Aniak (10 when the every-other-year off season for pinks happen). Most anglers will have the opportunity to catch seven or eight different species which is another plus to this unique fishery.
Upon your arrival in Aniak, you will be shuttled to the Base Lodge (pictured below) to meet the crew, and to enjoy some beverages and lunch. Guests can leisurely change into their waders while the crew prepares for the 25 mile trip up river to the New Lodge (pictured below), where you will spend the rest of the day fishing. Mid-week you will move upriver to experience Trout Camp, which is the tent lodge (seen below). The lodge and tent camp accommodations offer the comforts of home amidst the wilderness of Alaska – providing all the amenities necessary to make your fishing trip an experience of a lifetime.
The New Lodge consists of a new main lodge building complete with a gourmet kitchen and dining room, along with 7 new spacious guest cabins. Each cabin offers more amenities than ever before. Private bathrooms with hot running water, showers, vanities, flushable toilets, daylight sitting areas in the main lodge, are just a few of the great new additions.
Your day starts when you are ready to get on the water. We access fishing via jet boats. Fish from the boat, or get out and wade if you like. There are many braids to explore and smaller tributaries to fish. Your day will end with a marvelous dinner prepared by our chef. For the few nights spent at our tent camp, if you didn’t get your fill of fishing head back out after dinner. There is superb fishing to be had right from camp; no need to take off the waders to eat! Soak up that Alaska daylight, which is close to 24 hours a day during our summer season. Catch-and-release fishing is encouraged at all times. In the event that you wish to pack your legal limit of salmon to take home, that can be arranged.
